33 photos in a Flickr set. Found my spot at Market and 1st, shot the parade like a fiend, had a backstage pass at the celebration so shot a few of Cheer SF and Margaret Cho before collapsing at 2pm. Yup, I'm a lazy old fart.
I did promo pics for La Plebe last year, obviously they are free to send them to whatever media that they like. But it's a very nice suprise on a Thursday morning to see an article about them on the Gate (with an interview with Alberto - the nicest man in rock'n'roll) and one of my photos with a photo credit. Sweet.
And in the paper! Whoo, nice tearsheet! Page G-4 of the 96 Hours section.
Once in a while, I get it into my head that I can videotape a friend's band. I'll burn it to a DVD, give it to the band, and forget about it. And not do it again for six months. Mostly because I'm a terrible cameraman. La Plebe actually liked this video (from last Friday) enough that they've asked me to make them 20 more DVDs that they can sell at their next SF show. (Sat May 17th at El Rio - see them!). So here's one track from the tape thron up on YouTube this morning. As you can see, I am a photographer, not a cameraman.
