The studio I use is an increasingly large commercial space in South Beach. I’ve been a partner with Alan, who runs the place, for many years, since we shared the tiny studio space over on Belcher Street in the Castro. Since we moved to South Beach, Alan has expanded the space into a viable business, doing studio rentals and photography workshops.
Well the news is that the space has expanded again, adding a small studio upstairs with paper seamless, 3-4 lights, and a variety of props. It’s not somewhere for a large band shoot, but is still bigger than my old Belcher Street studio, and a perfect space for simple headshots, one-person portraits and art shoots. Benefits over the main studio are privacy and quiet, and we’ll have access to anything we need from downstairs, like softboxes and other light modifiers, fans etc. etc.
Thursday Night Photo shoots will now be split between the main studio and the small space, for now, until the place expands again.
